On August 26th my dad had a heart attack. It was a really scary time. The hardest part was being so far away and just feeling helpless. After some juggling and figuring out the logistics of it all I was able to head up to Missouri with Jessie, Liam and Myles. Matt was in DC working and James had to stay home. Within a couple of days 17 of us had gathered. Matt flew into Kansas City to meet up with us. We were just missing a couple of people (and they were definitely missed). My dad came through his surgery wonderfully. We were able to spend some much needed time with family. I am so thankful for my family and all the miracles that happened that weekend. By the way, my dad is doing great. He looks amazing and was cracking jokes in no time at all. Next time how about we just PLAN a family reunion?

the siblings
Jesse, Megan, Gary, Susan, Richard and Erin

Uncle Richie took all the little kids down to the park.
He bought them all ice cream.
They had a blast.

That is super scary! I know how you feel about being away and feeling so helpless when something really big happens. But I am glad to hear things are going good for your dad.
i second the lets just plan a reunion. maybe when Matt gets back??? Definitely when Matt gets back. no more reunions in the hospital waiting rooms.
I'm so glad you made it through all this. I wish I could have helped with everything. I just didn't realize what was going on til you were gone. And who are these siblings? I didn't know you had so many! You must be the baby? You look very happy to be with them. Call me sometime!
